Good Points: Staff~ Not too pushy, they know their stuff about wine & the food, but still give you a personal level of service.
Bad Points: Hard to get a table on a Saturday night at a decent time (i.e. 7.30 - 8.45pm) unless you book on a Wednesday but can usually accomodate at 9pm or 9.15pm
Review: My Fiancee and I enjoyed this place sooooo much that we had our wedding breakfast here! If that doesn't recommend it nothing will. 40 of us were served perfectly by Shelley and her waitress, whilst Barry did all the cooking in the back! An excellent place to eat ~ we picked it for our wedding after having eaten here many times and each meal was up to the same standard in both taste and presentation. The choices on display are great with a top class standard menu & an extensive specials . These are complemented by a great choice of wines. The food is served quickly and is excellently displayed throughout, whilst being an unhurried and pleasant affair. I would highly recommend Aqua restaurant to any one visiting Stalybridge. Why travel into Manchester when the best restaurant around is on your doorstep?

Review: I did a suprise birthday party for my boyfriend there, it was excellent!!!!! there were six of us in all, we had a wonderful evening 7:30pm - 12:45. The food was cooked to perfection, the wine was excellent and the price was amazingly cheap not cheap but very very low concidering everything we ate and drank. I wholeheartedly recomend Aqua. Sunday lunch is wonderful as well. Three cheers for the chef, thank goodness Stalybridge has somewhere of this high standard to go to, to have a wonderful meal, in nice suroundings and very nice owners. 10 out of 10 .

Review: My family and I went here in october 2006. 10 of us in all, we were given a long table, lots of room. A good wine selection is available, from lots of places and varietes. Champagne, cremant etc.
The food is amazing, I don't know what tricks the chef used, as there was only one of him. The sauces are rich and tasty, the meats perfectly cooked and tasty. The veg is excellent (and I'm an avowed carnivore). We all got served at the same time, impressive for a small kitchen, very skilled. The starters were excellent, with a wide specials board and an even bigger set menu selection. I had a special, duck in a woodland berry sauce. Possibly the best duck I have ever tasted, the sauce was slightly tart instead of sweet like a dessert, which made the meal.
The owners were very friendly, making time to talk and joke with us, while at the same time making sure everyone was well served and happy. They even managed to control my 11 year old with no problems.
Tending to the higher end of the price range, this place proves the adage, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap meal, go to a kebab shop. If you want excellent food, and a very friendly environment, this is the place to go
